Transforming organic grain alcohol and locally sourced Cornish spring water into our award-winning Elemental Cornish Gin takes time, precision and a whole load of heart. Using traditional methods and making genuinely small batches we craft each bottle by hand right here, on-site in our family-run distillery.
TWELVE BOTANICALS
Our recipe was developed by Elemental’s founder and a self-taught master distiller, Jon Meyer back in 2013 and uses a carefully selected combination of 12 botanicals sourced from around the world. Jon’s passion for alchemy and love for the handcrafted resulted in a superbly smooth gin.

PROCESS
The process begins by steeping our botanicals in warm organic grain spirit and locally sourced Cornish spring water from Bodmin Moor. Left overnight to release their vibrant flavours and delicate oils, we then strain the liquid before firing up Tan (fire), Norvys (earth), Awel (wind), and Dowr (water), our four 40-litre traditional copper stills and the alchemy begins.
DISTILLATION
We heat our stills gradually, seal them with dough and step back to let the magic happen. As the vapour winds its way through the copper still and cools, we separate and discard the heads and tails to ensure only the smoothest heart of the distillate makes it into our gin. These are pivotal moments in the creation of Elemental, a skillful blend of art and science that takes great practice to master.
Our ‘one-shot’ distillation method, which is rarely used these days means that other than the addition of more Cornish spring water to bring it down to 42% ABV, our gin comes out of the still exactly as it comes to you. These traditional methods take longer and require patience, but for our characteristic smoothness, we know it’s worth the wait.
HANDCRAFTED
At Elemental this is a hands-on labor of love and in every single batch of around 90 bottles, there will be subtly delicious differences – which is a true mark of a small batch craft gin. Once bottled, labeled, and sealed – all by hand, of course, it's time for Elemental's signature spirit to be shipped, sipped, and savoured by you.
